RYVITA® Recipe

Ingredients

  • RYVITA® Original Crackerbread
  • Shredded onion
  • shredded leek
  • shredded carrot
  • shredded swede
  • shredded potato
  • soaked and shreeded lentils
  • chopped up gammon steaks with all fat removed
  • little pinch of salt
  • water

Method

Put all the veg through a chopping machine or if you are really patient shred it with a grater. I put about 5 large carrots, 5 medium onions, half a small swede or turnip, one large leek, about one and half large potatoes, a pinch of salt poured into my hand and enough water to get to the rivets inside my pressure cooker. You may have guessed but this is not a weighed out receipe. The only weighed out bit is 118g of lentils which I soak whilst preparing everything else and then put in the vegetable chopping machine. I also cut up two unsmoked gammon steaks which are as lean as I can find them and then have any white that I can cut away. It takes about an hour to cook in a pressure cooker and tastes absolutely gorgeous and reminds me of coming home from school on a cold winters night when my Mum used to make it.
